It's a new year! I hope everyone had safe and happy holidays? Did you make any resolutions? I don't bother anymore, because that just adds another few failures to my list as the year goes on. The main goals I plan on achieving are to get a teaching job (or a job SOMEWHERE for now), move the hell out of my house (for reasons I'm not detailing here. You're welcome), and maybe try to eat better and exercise. I want to do the last one and have no problem doing it, but when you eat your feelings instead of talking... well, yeah. Hahaa. Ah well. I hope whatever you've resolved to do, you stick to it and have a successful New Year!
January WitFit starts tomorrow, and I'm hoping I can keep up on it better than I have for the December ones. I still have almost all of December's prompts in my GMail box, and I hope to do them eventually and add them to my FFn account for whoever is bored enough to read them. ;) A lot of the problem with posting there is that I feel guilty if it's not fanfic related (Twilight, of course, since I'm not into other universes right now) and I can't somehow make it fit the Twi characters, it won't work. Maybe my readers will be okay with an entry or two that are just random and don't involve the characters. Of course, like, two people only read the WitFit, so I think they'll be okay with it. lol.
My good buddy JayneRulis/BelovedWonderland suggested we collaborate on a new contest called "To Kill A Cullen". Basically you can write whatever you want as long as a Cullen dies. The death can be funny or tragic or whatever. There are rules concerning a couple of characters and if their deaths count, but I think it'll be fun. We plan on basing it on a song called "Maxwell's Silver Hammer". Creepy, but we want it to be funny, too, so we'll see how it works out. We're not always the best with keeping up with things and never just sit down and write, but we really want to try. I've never entered a contest before, so it should be fun. I also have an idea for my own one-shot for the same contest, involving Nessie and things going badly in the clearing during Breaking Dawn. It's based off of a Moby song. I might have mentioned it a couple of posts ago. I think this could totally work for the contest, I just have to SIT MY ASS DOWN AND FUCKING WRITE IT. I have been so uninspired lately to write ANYTHING that, obviously, nothing gets done.
So, I refuse to make a resolution involving writing because I KNOW that would be a giant fail right off the bat. I could make all kinds of promises to sit down and get something on the page, but I get really weird and over think everything and then nothing really gets done. Like I've said before. Cause I'm a nerd with neuroses.
Anywho, that's that for now, and hopefully I'll have more good news on the writing front in weeks to come! Happy New Year and best wishes for the new decade!
